Eurosport Player Review
Eurosport Player is a perfect app for those who don't play any sport but love watching it. It has much more to it than any other regular sports channel, like choosing which angle to watch the competition from and other cool stuff. You can download Eurosport Player for certain Internet-connected compatible and registered TVs, computers, tablets, smartphones, and other devices, including Android, iOS, Chromecast, and others.
Functionality – 5/5
Basically, this app is a TV on demand. You have all the sports competitions from all over the world here. Just choose a sport you want to watch now from the main screen. You can see all streaming live and future events of this sport in the schedule. You can also record it, replay it, and see relevant news and highlights about this sport. Use the search box to look for something in particular on Eurosport Player's latest version.
Design – 4/5
This player has a basic black-themed design that you’ve seen before on many similar TV providers. As for the sports icons in the main menu, there are quality screen grabs of them (if it's not on the phone). When you choose a sport you can see a little preview of the stream. On the right side of the screen, you can choose which angle you want to watch the videos from.
Usability – 5/5
You have to register first on eurosportplayer.com and pay the subscription before you start using Eurosport Player app on any device. As was mentioned earlier in this Eurosport Player review it's more than just a Eurosport channel. The first and most important difference is that there are more competitions available here than on just Eurosport channels. But as with regular TV channels, you get interrupted by ads. It's a bummer considering that it's not a free app. The quality of commentary and picture is equal to the ones on a regular TV.
Cross-platform use – 3/5
Sometimes this app doesn't upload the stream right away on any device because its performance depends on how good your device actuality is. But in general, it's noted that Eurosport Player iOS version performs better than Eurosport Player Android. When you use it on Android, you have to put your GPS settings at the highest accuracy.
This isn't a free app. You have to buy at least one month of subscription to use it. The price is €4.99 a month, and it doesn't matter how many months you pay for in advance. Keep in mind that it's an automatically renewed subscription, so don't forget to cancel in advance if you don't want to use it anymore. Sometimes Eurosport Player install might be for free in the so-called Third Party Bundle. It's when some TV provider offers you a deal with Eurosport Player free download, so you can watch out for those.
The Bottom Line
There are only a few Eurosport channels available on a regular TV, but this app has literally thousands of them. You still can't watch all the competitions happening in the world because there are so many of them are going on at the same time. But there are still quite a few bugs happening in this app to enjoy it the best. Especially be careful when you travel with it — it might stop working in some countries.Collapse
If you're a hardcore sports fan, you should definitely download Eurosport Player.
