How to Put Your Business on Apple Maps?
So, you own or manage a business, and you want to show it on Apple Maps. It’s easier to do than one might think. Still, there are some things to know if you want to make it in the most efficient way.
The main thing to know is that there is only one way to get there, and it’s the official direct way. There is no need to pay someone to put you there. You can do it yourself, and the result will probably be even more precise and flexible. In addition, you will be able to update details whenever necessary.
A New ID? Yes
Well, the first thing to do if you want your business on Apple Maps is a separate ID for it. You can proceed with your private one, but we’d recommend you have another one for business purposes only. It might require another device, but promoting your business is worth it.
These steps are necessary each time you log in on Places on Maps. You will have to verify your account: these are the requirements for businesses. Also, you will have to do it each time you want to update something. On the other hand, it grants your page will not be raided.
Enter the Business
After you finish your registration, it’s time to get a place in the sun for your business page on Apple Maps. But you need to check it first. Enter the name of your business and check if it’s already listed. Well, it might be, as Apple Maps updates its catalog frequently. If there is a matching name, check the street address to make sure it’s yours. If it is, you can claim it directly.
If your business is not listed, the procedure gets a little more sophisticated, though there is still nothing impossible.
- Click “Add New Place”
- Enter your business information. The most important fields to fill are the name, address, phone, status (open or closed), and category. You can select multiple categories your business fits into.
- Select whether you accept Apple Pay. No wonder this particular information is important for Apple.
- After filling all the fields, click “Call Me Now” and wait for your phone to ring.
- During the call, you’ll receive a 4-digit code to enter on the screen. So, you confirm the phone, and the Apple ID you use is yours.
- When you’re confirmed, edit your business details.
The details include your place name, location, phone, open hours, social media pages, and so on. Verification of your data might take time. After it happens, your business will appear on Apple Maps and be easy to find. So make sure Siri recognizes its name correctly!
Does It Make Sense to Appear on Apple Maps?
Though Apple Maps is not the most popular navigation service, it has its noticeable share. It’s installed on Apple mobile devices and used by default by many users who don’t want to bother with other apps or just like it the way it is. In addition, Apple Maps is now available as a navigation service for DuckDuckGo, a popular search system that many users prefer to Google.
You will need to update your business details frequently. It usually takes three or four months to accumulate enough minor changes – at least, to update the pictures. If you change your number, address, or name, it should also be reflected in the card on Apple Maps.
