Pokemon GO on June 8 Goes BIG with Mega Slowbro and Snorlax
Still a number one AR game that takes Pokémon to the streets, Pokémon GO announces a new summer event, and this time come on and take it slow. In all the meanings. The name of the event is “A Very Slow Discovery”, and that’s the way it goes.
No wonder the mascot of the event is Slowpoke and its evolved versions. For example, you will get a lot of free Slowpoke stickers – so many of them you won’t know where to stick them. Another new Pokémon introduced will be Mega Slowbro, somehow skipped by Pokémon GO before. Yes, it will be just as slow and strong as wherever you encountered it. What else awaits you is Slowpoke-themed Collection Challenge. If you complete it before the event is over, you will be rewarded with a “SLOWPOKE Forever” shirt, 3000 XP, and 30 Ultra-balls. So don’t be you-know-who!
As for Snorlax, June 8 will be its day to shine – literally. You will be able to catch SHINY Snorlax, or at least so it seems. For this, though, you will need to go on a three-star raid, where you may also meet Toxicroak, Slaking, and Slowking. One-star raid can reward you with Galarian Slowpoke and Alolan Grimer, Shellder, Shinx, and Timburr – all of them potentially SHINY. But we’d recommend searching for the Galarian Slowpoke, and you’ll see why.
Other wild Pokémon that come out this day include Gulpin, Vigoroth, and the regular Slowbro. As for other SHINY ones, they will probably be Slakoth, Slowpoke, and Spoink. The most common, but no less pleasant gift of this day is the free box in the store. It c ontains a King’s Rock, 20x Pokeballs, and 10x Mega Balls.
One of the option available to you this day is Galarian Slowbro. It’s not to be caught in the wild, though. To breed one, you need to catch a Galarian Slowpoke on a one-star raid and assign your Buddy Pokémon. Catch 30 Poison-type Pokémon and see your Galarian Slowpoke going Slowbro!
