Jigsaw Puzzle Review: Good Old Jigsaw
Jigsaw Puzzle is a popular puzzle game in which you have to pick up pieces of a picture and put them all together to make the image whole again. This implementation by Critical Hit Software will please you with over 20,000 original photos in dozens of exciting categories. You can download Jigsaw Puzzle for iOS 10.0+ on App Store and for Android 5.0+ on Google Play.
Graphics – 5/5
Jigsaw Puzzle latest version has a neat wooden interface with brown leather option-bar. The library of puzzles is similar to the bookshelf in the old iBooks. It’s easy to scroll and select games because all of them have big previews, and you can look at up to 10 of them if you play on a tablet. It’s also convenient enough to play on a small screen due to the zooming.
Gameplay – 5/5
If you’re looking for the biggest and the closest to a real jigsaw puzzle, then Jigsaw Puzzle gameplay won’t leave you unmoved. Jigsaw Puzzle gameplay was carefully recreated from the original game by developers and expert manufacturers of puzzles. That’s why it feels like the real thing. If you play on a smartphone screen, you can set from 4 to 400 pieces, while tablets support up to 1024.
The total number of levels surpassed 20,000. You can play a new free puzzle every day or download one of many free packs. You can also get rewarded with extra packages for completing difficult tasks.
All puzzle packs include handpicked images in high resolution. For this Jigsaw Puzzle review, we played on iPad Pro 12.9, and they looked well enough even on such a large Retina surface. The arts include photos by top photographers and jigsaw artists, particularly Joseph Burgess and Nicky Boehme.
Controls – 5/5
You can drag and place, rotate, and mix pieces exactly like you do in the physical game. However, there are some digital hints too. If you’re stuck in the middle and can’t find the next tile, feel free to tap the lightbulb icon to get a clue and continue without delays. You can also look up at the whole image to refresh it in mind.
Replay Value – 5/5
How long will it take to complete a thousand puzzles? Now multiply it by 20, and you will understand that it’s almost impossible to finish Jigsaw Puzzle full game. Moreover, you can upload your own photos from Camera Roll and turn them into puzzles with the automatic puzzle generator. You can start multiple images at a time and go back to them when you are in the mood.
The Bottom Line
Jigsaw Puzzle is one of the best jigsaw hubs for iOS and Android. It will bring you unlimited hours of fun, but be careful because it can cause strong addiction! If you’re not enough with free packages and daily levels, you can get the paid Premium subscription update for $3.99. It will unlock all themed packs forever and remove all ads. In case you enjoy only specific topics, there are separate selections for $0.99 and $1.99.Collapse
